Biomonitoring Training Session for Volunteer Stream Monitors.
10 a.m.- 4 p.m. at Blue Ridge Community College.
This training is designed for both new volunteers and as a refresher course for current volunteers. Training will cover aquatic insect morphology, identification and sampling protocol. Training will start in a lab, covering aquatic insect morphology and identification. In the afternoon, we’ll incorporate field experience with the sampling protocol. "Recycling - A Year of Change... City & County"
7 p.m. at City Operations Center, 305 Willliams St.
A public forum on the many recent changes in recycling at the city, county and state levels. The panel of experts from all areas of government will report on what has happened since the county announced its 2-year Solid Waste vision over a year ago. Audience questions are encouraged. Co-sponsored by ECO and League of Women Voters
