Minimal $15 per person fee covers program costs. Additional fees may apply.
Mon. July 28
“ An Evening With Paul Bonesteel” fundraiser for ECO. 6 p.m. preview reception $40, which covers the reception, catered
by Purple Onion, a talk by Bonesteel and reserved seating at the film showing. 7 p.m., “The Mystery of George Masa” film
showing, with an introduction by Bonesteel, $15. McIntosh Room in the Blue Ridge Community College Conference Center,
Flat Rock campus. Reservations must be received by July 23 by sending checks made out to ECO with “Bonesteel event” in the memo line. Mail checks to ECO, 611 N. Church Street, Suite 101, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
Tues. July 29
Sustainable Living Workshop: Canning, Preserving, and Putting Up Food Part 2. “Food Preservation Part 2:
Soft Spreads, Pickling, Freezing, and Drying,” 6:30-8:30 p.m., taught by Renay Knapp, Extension Agent, Family and
Consumer Sciences at Henderson County Cooperative Extension Center, 100 Jackson Park Road., in Jackson Park, downtown
Hendersonville. Cost is $15 per person per class. Pre-registration is required. One of two workshops on Canning, Preserving,
and Putting Up Food.
Sat. August 9
ECO’s Green Homes and Edible Gardens Tour. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. A self-driving tour to seven locations in Henderson
County. View private homes and gardens focusing on edible landscaping. Homeowners and gardeners will be on hand to answer
questions. Cost is $12 per person. Children under 10 free with paying adult.

Blue Ridge Big Sweep Stream Clean-up. All day, throughout WNC. Join ECO and all its partners in making this year’s
Big Sweep event great success! Form a team or join with another group of friends, neighbors, and coworkers to clear trash and
recyclables from local waterways. Call ECO for more information or to volunteer in Henderson County.
