ECO 6th Annual Environmental Film Fest. 6 p.m., Hendersonville Little Theater, ?? N. Washington St., Hendersonville. $15. Feature film, Chasing Ice.  Preview documentary, The Call of the Ancient Mariner.  Enjoy beer, wine, and catered refreshments, see award winning visually-stunning film, and preview local film maker’s turtle research.  A fundraiser for ECO.

SunergizeWNC workshop:  Biz611, 611 N. Church St., Hendersonville. 6 p.m. registration; 6:30 p.m. program.  No charge.  ‘SunergizeWNC’ is a nonprofit community campaign to help homeowners and businesses determine if ‘Going Solar’ is a good investment. Presentation covers site considerations, tax credits, types of systems, financing and more.

Thurs. 20

Joint Organization Annual Gathering. Tthe Alliance, the Jackson-Macon Conservation Alliance (J-MCA) and the Environmental and Conservation Organization (ECO) will formally merge into one regional, grassroots environmental organization in 2015. The Gathering will be from 6-8 p.m. at Legacy Paddle Sports in Fletcher.Members will cast final votes on legal documents that must be approved by our respective boards and members.

There will be music, food, drinks — and, of course, the official reveal of our new name!
We look forward to seeing you there!

Winter Solstice Night Hike. 7p.m.  Dupont State Forest.  Celebrate the winter solstice during a night time stroll to Hooker Falls.  Dress warmly, bring flashlights and a beverage to toast the return of the sun to the Northern Hemisphere on the longest night of the year.  ECO’s  annual favorite event.
